TESDA 10 - Misamis Occidental celebrates 22nd TESDA Anniversary (August 25, 2016)

Over 500 students, instructors, school administrators, government officials all over the Misamis Occidental Province come together to join in the celebration of the 22nd TESDA Anniversary.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was established through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 otherwise known as the "Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994", which was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos on August 25, 1994. This Act aims to encourage the full participation of and mobilize the industry, labor, local government units and technical-vocational institutions in the skills development of the country's human resources.

In the Province of Misamis Occidental, the TESDA Anniversary was marked with a day of unity among the different sectors.  The celebration started with a thanksgiving Mass at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Oroquieta City, followed by a motorcade along the main roads of the city.  The opening program was made more meaningful with the inspirational message from the Honorable Governor Herminia De Mesa Ramiro delivered by Atty. Ricardo Lumantas.  The Venue was graciously provided for free by the City Government of Oroquieta.  Community Training and Employment Coordinators from the local government units attended the opening program.

After the formal program, followed the different presentations by the different TVIs, a TESDA Quiz Bee anchored by Mr. Leox Igot, skills demonstrations in cake decorating by the Deor and Dune Academe School of Technology and in food processing by the Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School, and finally, parlor games were held which made the celebration even more vibrant.
A smorgasbord lunch was shared by everyone.  All the TVIs brought sufficient food for everybody.  Everyone had a sumptuous meal, a happy heart and definitely has made good friends and understood the spirit behind the celebration - to be ONE in the development of Filipino workforce with world-class competence and positive work values.
