October 19, 2021 – TESDA Misamis Occidental (TESDA Mis.Occ.) conducted graduation ceremony to 25 scholars of Raise Organic Chicken and 25 scholars of Produce Organic Fertilizer at Barangay Sebucal, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. 

April 29, 2021 – TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director El Cid H. Castillo together with Oroquieta Agro Industrial School and Provincial Training Center – Misamis Occidental launched its Community Pantry in Sitio Bagong Tipan, Brgy. Toliyok, Oroquieta City – an NTF listed priority barangay.

April 12, 2021 – As an output on the Joint AFP-PNP Civil Relation Committee Provincial Metting attended last April 6, 2021 in Provincial Philippine National Police New Function Hall, TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office joins the Community Outreach Program initiated by AFP and PNP in Brgy. Lake Duminagat, Don Victoriano.

March 27, 2021 – As part of the commitment of RD Banto to the residents in Sitio Tinago, Brgy. Lalud, Don Victoriano During his visit last March 20, 2021 to resolve their recurring problem on the access of electricity, RTC-Iligan conducted Basic PV System Installation under Project LAMDAG and provided solar panels to the residents in the area.

March 24, 2021 – Provincial Director El Cid H. Castillo leads the site assessment in Brgy. Mansawan, Don Victoriano for the implementation of Barangay Development Programs, Brgy. Mansawan is one of the NTF-listed priority barangay in Don Victoriano where there are presence of rebel forces and where poverty incidence rate is high.

March 20, 2021 – RD Ashary Banto conducted site assessment to the NTF-listed priority barangays in Don Victoriano together with TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office, Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School, Provincial Training Center – Misamis Occidental, Diwat National High School , 10th Infantry Division, Philippine National Police – Misamis Occidental and CTEC from Don Victoriano.

Brg. Sebucal, is the Oroquieta City’s 

farthest and remote barangay. It in situated within

 a valley in the Malindang Range where majority

of the inhabitants are the Subanin. In order to reach

the area, one has to walk for about 6-7 hrs. form Brgy. Mialen,

Oroquieta or the the other route which is from Brgy. Gandawan,

Don Victoriano via Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte. 

January 22, 2021 – Director General Isidro S. Lapeña together with Deputy Director General Lina Sarmiento visited TESDA Misamis Occidental Cluster including the TTIs in the Province as part of his commitment to check and to see himself the current situation of the operating units.

The province of Misamis Occidental is located at the Northern part of Mindanao with Oroquieta City as its capital city. The province is a clam-shaped province with Mt. Malindang as the pearl. To the west, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte, to the east, it faces the Panguil bay of Iligan City, to the south is the province of Lanao del Norte and to the north is the Siquijor province.

62 trainees graduated from 4 qualifications under the Barangay Kabuhayan Skills Training Program in the Municipality of Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental last October 5, 2016 – 15 from Service Automotive Electrical (Leading to Automotive Servicing NC II); 15 from RAC Servicing (Dom/RAC) NC II, 15 from Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I and 17 from Process Food by Salting, Curing and Smoking (Leading to Food Processing NC II.

November 22, 2016, Concepcion, Misamis Occidental – A total of 103 trainees graduated from six (6) Qualifications in the Municipality of Concepcion, Misamis Occidental under the Barangay Kabuhayan Skills Training Program (BKSTP). 74 bakers graduated from Bread Making and Pastry Making leading to Bread and Pastry Production NC II in the Municipality of Panaon on October 25, 2016.  This is under the Barangay Kabuhayan Skills Training Program per TESDA Circular 20 series of 2016 implementing RA 9509, the Barangay Kabuhayan Act.

Working together the TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office, the Provincial Training Center, the Oroquieta Agro-Industrial School and the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office agree to pool resources to provide free training to the surrenderees of the Oplan Tokhang in Misamis Occidental.

TESDA MOC PO conducted its first provincial TVET forum for this year last March 24, 2017 at Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. Participants of the forum were the school heads of TVIs and TTIs and all the Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTECs) in the province.

  Ninety (90) farmers and members of the irrigation association identified by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and traced through the Local Government of the Municipality of Plaridel graduated from TESDA’s Intervention Program for El Niño Affected Areas in 2016 on November 24, 2016 at the Provincial Training Center – Plaridel.

  Industry Partners of TESDA Misamis Occidental participated  in the Partnership Forum last November 17, 2016, at Grand Caprice Restaurant, Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.  The event was a half- day forum that were attended by the various TESDA offices and industry partners from   region IX, X, XI, XII and ARMM.
