TESDA 10 – Misamis Occidental Province turn-over ceremonies

May 10, 2016 saw the formal turn-over of responsibilities for the TESDA Region 10 – Misamis Occidental Provincial Office from the outgoing Provincial Director John D. Simborios to the in-coming Provincial Director Miraluna N. Baje-Lopez. The formal turn-over was conducted in the presence of the TESDA Region 10 Regional Director, Engr. Edgar A. Sales and witnessed by the different stakeholders of the Province – the heads of the TESDA Technology Institutions, presidents and administrators of the Private Technical-Vocational Institutions, representatives from partner government agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment, the Local Government Units, the officers of the Misamis Occidental TVET Training Institution Association (MOTTIA), members of the Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (PTESDC), Instructors, faculty and staff from the Kabasalan Institute of Technology, and staff from the TESDA Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Office and some family and friends of the in-coming Provincial Director.


Provincial Director John D. Simborios thanked all the TESDA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office staff, the officers and members of the MOTTIA and PTESDC and every TVI present for all the support they have given him during his term of three (3) years as the Director of the Province. Director Simborios is assigned as the Provincial Director of the TESDA Region 10 – Camiguin Provincial Office.


In-coming Provincial Director Miraluna N. Baje-Lopez also took her oath of office before the Regional Director as a newly appointed Provincial Director. Ms. Baje-Lopez was formerly assigned at the Kabasalan Institute of Technology as a Vocational School Administrator III.


The Regional Director in a happy spirit congratulated the two provincial directors and presented them with a set of challenge and a promise of support for the days ahead. RD Sales posed the challenge of choosing between the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly or the metamorphosis of a snake.


The formal turn-over ceremony was followed by the sharing of a merienda-cena jointly sponsored by the OAIS, PTC-Plaridel and the Provincial Office.
